Every paid plan uses the same in-app effort picker — Fast, Balanced, or Thinking, or run on-device. Max isn't a “smarter model” tier; it's a higher-intensity tier: more monthly allowance, whole-deck and whole-curriculum bulk processing, and priority when servers are busy.
What a credit buys, measured on the app's own metering: turning one page of notes (about 4,000 characters) into cards draws about 5,000 credits — so that run fits roughly 200 times into Basic's monthly pool, 600 into Pro's, and 2,400 into Max's. Longer documents draw proportionally more, up to a hard per-run cap.
